The collection prepares for a new home – Issued jointly by the UCT Communication and Marketing Department and the Irma Stern Trust The University of Cape Town (UCT) and the Irma Stern™ Trust have jointly agreed to conclude their long-standing partnership to manage and operate the Irma Stern Museum. Newsletter 2/25: Irma Stern at Brücke Museum Berlin
A selection of Irma Stern's work is being shown in the exhibition "Irma Stern. A modern artist between Berlin and Cape Town" at the Brücke Museum in Berlin from 13 July to 2 November 2025. The Irma Stern™ Trust has loaned 14 artworks – ten oil paintings, three works on paper and the Congo Journal – to the Museum for the exhibition. The loan of these paintings is quite fitting, as Irma Stern studied in Berlin and had several important exhibitions in the German capital. Furthermore, the loan of these artworks is in terms of Irma Stern's wishes as stated in her Will, which called for the promotion of fine art, both within and outside South

As spring returns to Cape Town, the Irma Stern™ Museum has much to celebrate! Rethinking Irma Stern: For the past three years, the UCT Irma Stern Museum has partnered with the Western Cape Education Department on an exciting project with Grade 11 Visual Art & Design learners across the province. The project, titled "Rethinking Irma Stern," inspired students to engage critically with the work of Irma Stern, creating their own artworks and designs in response to her collection. Some of these learners had the pleasure of attending the museum’s guided tours and practical workshops. The exhibition was open to the public
