Oral History Tea project

Irma Stern™ Museum Oral History Tea project
Join the Irma Stern™ Museum's Oral History Tea project and help us capture and preserve the incredible life and art of Irma Stern. Whether you've personally met her or have family members who did, we invite you to be a part of this project.
We understand the significance of oral history, so we are hosting informal gatherings for people to share their stories of meeting Irma Stern. If you prefer a private setting, we can arrange that too. Your anecdotes will be recorded, whether in notes, on camera, or in audio, based on your preference. And of course, tea breaks are a must!
These shared moments offer fresh perspectives on Stern as both a person and artist. They provide insights into the context she lived in and shed light on her working methods. Ultimately, they contribute to a deeper understanding of Irma Stern as a remarkable artist and complex individual.
If you have stories or information you'd like to share, please contact Lucinda at Lucinda.cullum@uct.ac.za or call 021 650 7244. We'll keep you informed about upcoming get-togethers.
We're excited to hear your memories of Irma Stern!
