Newsletter 7/23: Picnics in the Secret Garden
It’s summertime! And summertime means that the Irma Stern™ Museum Garden becomes a cool oasis – the Clivias are in flower, the Yesterday Today and Tomorrow shrubs are sending their sweet scent into the air. Did you know that the museum garden even has its own (and very rare) resident chameleons?
We invite you to share this inspiring oasis with us – bring your own picnic, kick off your shoes, and spend some time of rest and relaxation in Irma’s Secret Garden. And don’t forget to invite friends and family, with up to five people per picnic. Regular museum entry fees apply – R 65 per person, free for under-18s, students, UCT staff and pensioners.
Want to bring a larger group? Or want us to organise the catering? Contact Lucinda at irmastern@uct.ac.za to explore our venue hire options for intimate events. We have hosted everything from cocktail parties and lunches to an 80th birthday!
For a bring-your-own picnic of up to five people, reservations are not mandatory, but we suggest that you let us know that you plan to come in case there is another event or the lawn is being mowed!
Art Classes at the museum

These workshops are held each second Saturday of the month from 10:30 – 12:30 and are an informal, social way to explore your creativity with facilitator Zimkhitha Mliswa.
